If you are on the hunt for bridal hair inspo for natural hair, you’ve come to the right place! Natural hairstyles worn for celebrations may be common in specific regions, but here, it’s not common to wear your natural hair on your special day. Now, there are many reasons why that may be. It could be societal pressure to straighten your hair or wear extensions, it could be a personal preference cultivated from fear, or it could just be your style choice. Regardless of the reason, you have every right to feel beautiful and confident in the style you choose for your special day. And if you’re someone who may be what appears to be a unicorn these days, and wants to wear your natural hair because you find it beautiful, here are some stunning options to choose from.

Textured Low Bun

Keep in mind, if you do not have as much volume as this style requires, many people add in type 4 hair extensions to achieve this look. That is the beauty of hair extensions. To trick the eye by extending what is naturally there.

Shorter Natural Styles with Accessories

For those women with shorter locks, these are excellent choices to choose from. The beauty of shorter hair is, it always draws attention to the neckline, similar to buns, which can be incredibly elegant paired with the right dress! And you can choose to adorn your hair with beautiful accessories as shown here with flowers, pearls, or diamond clips!

High Bun

This is a similar style that I wore for my convalidation ceremony. I did a twist and curl and re-curled the flatter pieces with a tight curling wand! I have an oblong face shape and many may think that a high bun would make the face appear longer, however, it can be very flattering on oblong face shapes and certainly other face shapes. My favorite way to style a high bun is with curly waterfall bangs. There is something very romantic about it.

Afro

You can choose to wear your hair out, as is, or you can choose to define your curls with product. For those who enjoy the freedom of wearing their natural hair out in all of its glory, this is a wonderful choice.

Stretched Style with Curls

I love stretched styles. I have many videos up on my channel of sharing the benefits of stretched natural hair. This is a wonderful way to keep texture in your style while not sacrificing length, because as we know, majority of women with type 4 hair have shrinkage (which indicates healthy hair).

Half Up Half Down

I am not sure if this is considered a true half up half down, as there is no ponytail, but this is extremely flattering for most face shapes and body types. This style is very versatile as well. If you want more volume, you can add clip ins or extensions. If you’d like to wear your stretched, you can also try that.

Of course there are many more styles to choose from, I only scratched the surface. You can find way more inspo on pinterest. And remember for the majority of us, we only get married once and our wedding photos are cherished for many years to come. What image would you like to see if you were viewing yourself in your wedding photos 50 years from now?
